I admit it. I am having trouble recalling more and more details from my days camping and working at Camp Old Indian. I'm sure if the right thing triggers me I will recall something but as always you usually remember things when you are thinking about other things and have trouble when you try to force it.
The best time I had at our last reunion was after lunch when everyone went around the tables sharing one interesting memory from their days at Camp Old Indian. I was looking for some other Camp Old Indian information, stories, etc. this morning and I discovered that one of my former co-workers on staff, Hamp Johnson, has recorded some of his memories from his early days of working at Camp. The stories from 1980 and 1981 were from a couple of years before I worked at Camp Old Indian but they did occur during the time I was camping with my troop. Go over and read Hamp's stories. I can tell you from my memories of Hamp he writes just like he speaks. I can practically hear him sitting around the tables at the trading post sharing these stories. Great job Hamp! Glad you wrote down those memories as well.
